The private client practice of Gassauer-Fleissner Rechtsanwälte GmbH (“GFR”) covers services relating to the structuring and administration of assets. These include the participation in so-called family offices, as well as counselling on the establishment and management of Austrian private foundations and comparable entities in other legal systems. Accordingly, the partners of GFR are active not only in connection with the conclusion of contracts and so-called housekeeping duties for private foundations but also as members of managing bodies. Typical private client services also relate to the structuring of asset transfers across generations and the drafting of relevant contracts, including e.g. counselling on the execution of wills and representation in probate proceedings; private foundations are, of course, an important factor here as well. Due to the increasing internationalisation, the relevant legal issues more and more refer to foreign jurisdictions; in this regard GFR coordinates the services and ensures that foreign counsels are asked the right questions, in order to enable a comprehensive analysis of the situation. The same applies in regard of cooperation with tax consultants in Austria and abroad.
